Mrs. Florence D. Schulman, of New Hartford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at her home. Florence was born in New York, New York, the daughter of the late Louis and Ada Brous Printzman. She was a graduate of New York City Schools and attended Hunter College.
On March 5, 1950, she married Norman Schulman in New York City. Following their marriage, the Schulman's relocated to Utica in 1958 and were residents of the area since. Mr. Schulman passed away January 12, 1993.
Prior to her retirement, Florence was an administrative assistant at the Utica Psychiatric Center, Utica, for many years. She was a member of Temple Emanu-El and a lifetime member of Hadassah. Florence's greatest passion and love was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Arline and Robert S. Beaty and Dr. Robert and Michele Schulman, all of New Hartford, and Lois and Dr. Richard Rubin, of Guilderland; her sister, Rhoda Uretsky, of Adventura, FL; her grandchildren, Sara Beaty and her husband, Jordan Smith, David Schulman and Noah Rubin; and her great-grandson, Tyler Smith.
Florence's funeral will be 1:30 p.m. (today), Friday, November 14, 2014, at Temple Emanu-El, 2710 Genesee St., Utica, with Rabbi Cassi Kail officiating.
Interment will follow in Temple Emanu-El Cemetery, Roberts Road, New Hartford, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Shiva will be observed 5-8 p.m., Saturday, and 1-4 p.m., Sunday, at the home of Dr. Robert and Michele Schulman.
