Larry Bernstein, 82, of Utica, passed away peacefully December 24, 2009, in Faxton-St. Lukes Health Care Center.
He was born September 9, 1927, in Utica, the son of the late George and Dorothy Leibowitz Bernstein, and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy.
Prior to Larrys retirement, he was employed by his brother, Louis, at Herkimer Electronics as the Store Manager for many years. Larry served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather, and her three children; his sister, Loretta Einstein, of New Hartford; his brother, Louis Bernstein, of Roanoke, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his brother, Paul Bernstein, and his sisters, Jessica Cynkus and Sarah Comins.
His funeral will be 1 PM, Wednesday, from Jacobson-Pizer Funeral Chapel, Inc., 1123 Court St. at York St., with Cantor Kal Socolof officiating. Interment will be in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Whitesboro. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider contributions in Larrys memory to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
