Elaine K. Goldstone, 85, of West Palm Beach, FL, and former long time resident of Utica, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in West Palm Beach, following a brief illness.
She was born May 7, 1930 in the Bronx, the daughter of the late, Joseph and Shirley Perlmutter Kerner. Elaine was a graduate of Syracuse City Schools, Syracuse University and Upstate Medical School in Syracuse, where she received her medical degree in anesthesiology. On December 18, 1955, Elaine married Dr. Edmund Goldstone. Dr. and Mrs. Goldstone had been longtime residents of this area until retiring to Florida. Dr. Goldstone passed away January 24, 2011.
Elaine was a member of Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood.
Elaine is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Eric Grossman, of Wilton, CT; her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Linda Kerner; her grandchildren, Danny, Adam, Lisa and Josh Grossman; her great-grandchildren, Lillian and Regan Grossman; her sisters-in-law, Sherry Goldstone, Joyce Goldstone; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald Goldstone, Jack Goldstone, Harold and Rena Goldstone.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m., Sunday, January 17, 2016, from Temple Beth El, 2710 Genesee St., Utica, with Cantor Kalman Socolof, officiating. Interment will be in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Whitesboro, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Ed. Shiva will be observed 1-4 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the home of Sherry Goldstone, 32 Foxcroft Road, New Hartford.
Contributions, in Elaine's memory, may be offered to the Ronald Goldstone Memorial Fund at Utica College.
