Esther Marans Levine, 101, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully, January 18, 2012, at Menorah Manor, where she resided for many years. She was born October 24, 1910, in Utica, the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Freeman Marans and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Esther married Julius Levine in Utica. Mr. Levine passed away in 2001. Esther was a member of Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood. She was also Past President of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lion of Judah, and an advisor to the Executive Director of the United Synagogue of America. She is survived by her nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Chesler, Lena Herzog, Gordon Marans and Sylvia Margolis. Her graveside service will be 11 AM, Sunday, January 22, 2012, in the House of Israel Cemetery, Wood Rd., Whitesboro, with Rabbi Ronald Kopelman officiating.
